What is your take on it?
From my point of view, it seems that lots of people have done this and continue to do this for various reasons.
One of them might be that their real name doesn't have that nice ring to it, or it might be a very common name that will hold them back from getting recognized.
Another reason might be that they want to protect their real identity.
Are there any other reasons to change the name that you do business in?
How does it work, legally?
Here are some people that I think have changed their names:
- Joe Polish (Polish = He's in the dry cleaning business)
- Dan Kennedy (Kennedy, a presidential name that has a great association)
- Jay Abraham (Same as with Kennedy, a presidential name)
- Eben Pagan (He carried the fake name David DeAngelo, why not Eben Pagan? It has a nice ring to it)
- MJ DeMarco (If not fake, it's a really cool name)
As for myself, I've thought about changing my name to a jewish name since I think that would help me tremendouzly in business. What do you guys think? Does it matter if it's jewish or not?
And lastly, would you recommend or try to help me to come up with a great business name?
Cheers
