It's time for me to get out of Chicago.
I've had enough of the taxes, crime, politics, weather, etc...
From what I've read online, Oklahoma City, Ok seems like the place for me. Great "small town lifestyle" in a more developed urban setting. Rapid growth in population, development, and industry. Majority of citizens as well as state and local gov share my political views. Conceal and carry! Much lower cost of living. Multifamily property prices and taxes seem more reasonable. Less severe winters in terms of snow, I don't mind the cooler weather at all, just can't stand snow storms and driving trucks for a living.
I have found a couple jobs down there that pay the same as I make in Chicago, but compare that with the lower cost of living and lower property prices I think I would be coming out way ahead.
Any members here from the area? What do you like/dislike about living in Ok? Any recommendations on RE agents that are knowledgable in rental properties? I hear the market for rentals is great, is that true for you?
I am unsure what to do with my 2 unit. I will most likely keep it and use my cashflow to pay someone to manage it for me.
I will be looking to make a move within the next few months hopefully. I am loosing motivation here in Chicago and I think it's time for a change of surroundings.
Thanks for any thoughts.
