I need some help in making a decision. I am 19 years old, and for the past two years have realized more and more that the corporate world isn't for me. My mindset is different than 99% of the people my age that I meet, so I am coming to this forum in hopes for some insight on a few choices that I have been debating.
I am currently working at a gym selling memberships and making ≈1300 a month. I live at home, and have been stacking money to move out this coming July (≈$20,000 saved up right now). I virtually have no expenses besides gas for my car. I feel like the longer I stay at my current job, the more I trade my time for money which honestly makes me absolutely sick. I feel like I am disrespecting myself working there because I know what I am capable of.
I want to start my own business. I do not have a business plan yet, but I feel like the longer I stay at my current job the more entrapped I am getting into the slowlane... I want freedom and my current job is not going to get me there. I feel like I need to put myself into a position where the money does not come easy before it is too late (once July gets here and I have my own place, bills, etc.), because if I can put myself into that position, I know I can make money... Just not sure of how much. I also have my own blog, so the free time would also be used to improve that. If I stay at my current job, I could probably have close to 26-27k saved up by the time I move out, but I feel like the experience I may gain from grinding it out and not having a job and trying to make money on my own would be worth more than any $$ amount.
