Completely new, unique product - any pointers?

Okay so I have come up with an idea for a completely new product. Doesn't exist at all, I've asked Google and Google said no. It's basically a combination of two basic products, one is a fashion accessory, one is a practical product. It would have high appeal to a small niche, and because it's completely unique competition would be virtually absent until somebody copied it. I've drawn up a basic version but because it's a fashion accessory there are thousands of possible designs. I'm not sure what my options are at this point, this is what I'm thinking:

- Get a prototype made
- Pre-sell product online
- Get manufacturer to produce product
- Ship online orders
- Get the product in retail
- Get celebrity endorsement (tons of ideas for this)

I would like to be able to tell somebody experienced in these things exactly what my product is without the chance of them stealing my idea. I would be open to a partner if they could help me get things going. I need to find somebody I can trust. Any ideas folks?
