in the middle of trying to fastlane a new business idea that takes advantage of a very strong market that has very weak competitors in terms of a user friendly website/interface. Its an ecommerce based business but every other website that sells these items all look like were created by a 5 year old and some website kit they bought at toys r' us. Our plan is to corner the market on this item based on many other things but one of the big ones would be our website design and user interface. However all it would take is one of the other websites out there to see how they can capitalize on our design and pay someone to create a "like" website that takes advantage of the same customer walk through. How does any business protect their interests when that business would be vulnerable to copy by another company coming out with a clone of your website but I guess changing enough where it doesn't looked cloned but the process by which a customer would shop would be....... how do you protect yourself ? I would guess you cant copyright a process on a website or design? Thanks for any suggestions!!
