A lot of members on this forum have shown an interest in crowdfunding lately, so I decided to make this thread to share what information I can to help anybody out. I am the founder TeamCrowdFund.com and I am looking to getting my book published this year on the topic.

The Number One Mistake People Make With Crowdfunding
You have to prepare for your campaign and build a crowd before you even think about launching your campaign. I cannot stress this enough. Unlike launching a website or business, the clock starts ticking on your campaign the moment you go live. You have 30-60 days to raise your funding and you don't want to be wasting time building a contact list of potential funders when you don't have time on your side.
Nobody Will Find Your Campaign Page
Crowdfunding websites are businesses with the ultimate goal of making money. The only way they make their money is by taking a percentage of money funded through your campaign. For this reason, they want to give high rank to, and feature, the campaigns that have the greatest potential of getting funded. When you get funded; they get funded.
If you look at any of the websites like Kickstarter.com or Indiegogo.com, all the campaigns on the top of the search results have one thing in common: They already have proven that they can make Kickstarter or Indiegogo money.
Summary
You have to build a pre-launch contact list of potential funders before you launch your campaign and send them to your campaign page as soon as you launch. You are the only one responsible for your success or failure.
