Is an idea really fastlane if the time it takes to make happen is unknown and potentially not fast?
Imagine an Idea, that if you could suceed with, you will instantly make hundreds of millions, or potentially billions. However, the big question is IF. For example, a radical engine design/technology to double MPG on cars without compromisining on anything will have anyone instantly rich. But the problem is, you may pull it off in 20yrs, or "if luck" be on your side, you may pull it off next year.
When you have such an idea, what do you do? do you suspend it, and focus on an idea that will make you rich in a few years, then you can pursue your main idea?
The reason I ask is because, my idea is that of "GENERAL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE", yes, the first computer capable of thinking and reasoning like a human begin. It will happen, and when it happens, the first to the market is going to be an INSTANT BILLIONAIRE. possibily the richest man in the world too! My motivation is the challenge, and I have had this dream since I read about it over 14yrs ago. Around 2 yrs ago, it started haunting me, and I know it can be done, but I feel it's something that probably take 10-15yrs to develop. So when I do suceed, I will be instantly rich, but I wil be in my mid 40's.
What to do, put it away and focus on something I can do and figure out in the next 5yrs, then go back to it? The problem is that it involves a lot of thinking and new ideas, and this is a young man's game. I wish I had direction when I was in my teens and twenties, but everything happens for a reason. I feel I'm at my prime now to tackle this field, and don't wanna wait till 35 to go at it, besides, I may get a little rich "$10 mil" and get distracted...
