This is one of the hardest decisions I have had to take. Hope you can help me out and give your views on what I should do.

Right now me and my business partner are starting an ecommerce company that we know will be very successful.

We have so far secured more than half of the initial capital requirement to start this business. So right now we are in contact with this business man from Cannes, and he is interested in investing in us.
What I should tell you is that we have already met with him in France last year, and proposed another business opportunity. But because we misunderstood the deal, we did not take it any further with him. Then we decided to start this company instead, that we are working on right now. Because we felt it was a much bigger opportunity, more need for it etc etc.

Now you're probably wondering why I am having trouble taking this decision.

Reasons why we want to move
-We're living in a very small town in Sweden, NO movement and it almost feels like a ghost town
-We want to surround ourselves with successful/rich people, mentors and like-minded people (have the business angel as a mentor mainly)
-It's a constant struggle to don't get dragged down by bad influence here
-The climate is really dark, cold and lots of snow/rain
-Labor regulations and the high taxes are no good for startups
-No daily inspiration/motivation from the surroundings
-Living at home with our parents, no feeling independent, self relient, empowered etc

What's holding us back?
My father (who is a slowlaner) was dealing with this very same business man concerning a deal for the company he is working for, and the business man from France ended up choosing not to be involved for some reason.
So he has some negative associations with this business man - and I don't know why really. When I ask my father, he says that he just talks a lot and haven't done anything.

We don't really know how much focus we will lose? I am thinking of learning french day by day ( i have some basics and im a fast learner) and other stuff to get adjusted to our new environment. What I can think of, this will not be a problem, certainly not compared with all the benefits.

How can we know for 100% sure the investor is a serious person? The only thing we know is what we've heard from my father, which we do not know how to take? Because when we met with him, he really seemed to be an successful entrepreneur, and did have a nice car (that he drove us in) etc. We also know he is founder of a company listed on the stock exchange Euronext, and also another company turning over 5 million euro +. (info we found online) And he also told us a bit about it when we met with him.

He has offered us to come to France now to meet with him, sit down and discuss.
We will tell him to show us his office etc, (where he also said that we can work from if we move).

He also says he can raise more money for us when he sees that that we can execute our plans. He says he can mentor us, and also have network of other startups to network with, and just generally really help us out.

Do you have any suggestions what we can do to find out if he is serious, and if we should take him into our business and let him invest?

Should we move to France? Why? Why not?
I have done the WADM, but that just showed us turning towards France a hell of a lot. :smx4:

Thanks. Appreciate your views.
