As I write this, it's a little after two in the morning for me. Prime time for my spirits and productivity almost any night, but tonight, like the last few nights it's especially true.
In fact, my spirits are so high they're bringing my productivity go back down. The reason for this is the weather.
You know of the people who feel young inside? It doesn't matter their age, they're vigorous and their bodies say go. With their bodies saying go, their minds follow. Well, I'd almost forgotten what it's like to be one of those people. At 24 years of age, I spend about half the year feeling like I'm triple that number simply because of the nature of my body itself.
Like a light switch, two days ago I felt the opposite though. I felt good. Alive. The sudden change let me know the very feeling of vigor itself, and to recognize my two season long lethargy.
I didn't realize what it was until I wiped the sweat and condensation from humidity away from my eyebrow. My disdain for winter runs much deeper than my logical reasons for disliking it. (Cold, dangerous, makes doing anything a burden. The only redeeming quality is that watching snow is relaxing.)
As a night person, my peak is always between 11PM and 6AM, which varies depending on when I've been going to bed. But the peak literally doubles as soon as it climbs over 23 degrees Celsius, and drops after the last warm autumn wind.
I'm sure this isn't the first time I've come to realize this... Never the less, this time I'm paying very close attention to it. Hopefully I can tame the lack of focus and extreme wanderlust that comes with the good weather, and use it to build momentum. I have six months left if I want to avoid winter this year. 18 months if I can't do so. The former seems far-fetched right now, but the latter is highly reasonable.
This is currently one of my two strongest motivations to keep seeking the fast lane... I'm loving how simple and primal it really is. While small and fairly cheap, it still requires enough freedom to relocate at least twice a year if I don't chose to go equator-wards.
Hmm. If there's a lesson to learn here... I guess it would be to keep paying attention to what resonates in a way that leads you to success. Be it in your environment, diet, goals, friends or any other aspect you can recognize.
And now it's almost 3. I kept going for mini-walks while writing this. So, it's time to go for an actual walk to get that out of my system long enough to use the few hours left to be productive again.
