Hello everyone. I am new to this website and I hope that I will learn what I need to in order to become successful. I am a recent college graduate who has been thinking more about potential business ideas rather than potential job opportunities...
Recently I have thought about a great product idea. The value of this idea, though, really has to do more with the name of it. The name of the product would basically reduce a major part of money necessary for marketing and advertising. I thought about this for the past few months not knowing what to do next. However, the other day I realized that someone had capitalized on the opportunity and filed a trademark for the name a few days after I had thought about it. At this point I am not sure if there is anything I can do. It turns out that the person who filed the trademark is a rich entrepreneur who I am sure will make much more off of this trademark. I am not sure what I can do about it. Is anyone out there familiar with the trademark process? How long is the process? What will this man have to do after it is filed? It has been a little over two months since he filed for the trademark and I am not sure if I should either wait it out and hopes it falls through or if I should try to contact him to work for his business...
I am a recent college graduate and I truly dread the thought of accepting a job where my opportunities are limited. Currently I have been applying to graduate schools to learn about accounting so that I may gain a better understanding of the business world. I have an undergraduate background in Economics and Political Science, but I just hope that I can become a successful entrepreneur one day.
Lastly, I would like some input about another couple of ideas that I have. They are types of social network sites and I am wondering if these ideas/concepts are patentable? For example, did facebook patent their concept even though myspace was already around? I would like to find a way to protect my idea so that I can present my website idea to an investor. Currently, I dont think that I have the money or resources that it will take to really take advantage of the opportunity ahead.. Hopefully someone will be able to give me some good advice! Thank you.
