Hello everyone, I'm here to give a few tips on selling products, and how to keep your customers interested. In todays world its all about your introduction to your product, a lot of salesmen tend to make basic mistakes, for example being too pushy, talking to fast, explaining the product wrong, and not making the introduction the best in can be.
The first part of selling comes down to knowing your product. How stupid would you look if your talking to a customer, and they ask a simple question,"Whys it better than this competitors product" and you know no idea what to say? Its always good to know why your product is so much better, that way you have something to say,and why they should buy your product instead of your competitors. Always explain to the customer what your product does exactly, give them as many pros to your product as you can without sounding overwhelming, and don't use big words no matter who your talking to, the better they understand you, the more likely they will buy.
During your introduction, never end your sentences with prices. When they ask the price, don't say, "It's $29.99"
follow your price with another pro of your product. "Its $29.99 and comes with a lifetime warranty." This way, the last
thing in your customers mind is a good thing coming from your product, not how much will be in their bank account after. This method also eliminates that awkward 10 second wait for the customers response, where your sitting there staring at them while they think it over. You want to eliminate as many awkward silences as you can, keep them thinking!
Don't be afraid to close! This is where you can completely lose the customer, some salesmen are afraid to ask "Would you like to Purchase this today?" because they don't want to feel rejected, they want them to say, "Yes" automatically, well it doesn't always work that way. You want them to feel royalty, so don't tell them all these fantastic things about your product, and just walk away. ALWAYS ask,"Would you like to purchase this?". Some customers will come to you, that means they will tell you what they want it first, and some customers, you will have to earn that, "YES" from them, but bottom line, always ask if they'd like to purchase.
Have you ever gone to Walmart and saw something that you absolutely wanted? You say, "Damn, I really want this, but its pretty expensive" but you buy it anyway? That's the power of WANT, even though its expensive, you still want it enough to set you back a little financially. Thats the mindset you need to maneuver your customers in, make your product sound so good, and so great that they are willing to buy it even though they have to live frugal until payday.
