Lately I've found that a lot of creative ideas I've had are just unthinkable to achieve. And that's when I have a creative idea that can truly change the world, which isn't exactly often. That being said, I find that there's a lot of money being made in souping up something that's nothing special. I guess you'd call that marketing. One example is in sales, I worked at an electronics store once and was required to sell things that I knew sucked in order to keep my job. I felt awful "morally" because integrity. I also realize if I would be willing to violate my integrity there are a lot of business opportunities I could work my way into. I am just very afraid of sacrificing my reputation, if that even matters. I find it's hard to be 100 percent honest unless you have some phenomenal creation. Otherwise it seems I'd be winging it.
Think Glengary Glen Ross, if you've seen that. Great movie by the way, a classic. Otherwise, check out Alec Baldwins speech in the movie Glengary Glen Ross. He really pushes how ballsy you have to be. How it's not about being a "nice guy, or good man". I'm starting to think that my concept of integrity causes me to stray away from lucrative opportunities.
My question to you guys, is have you ever felt like you had to slightly undermine or violate your minds perception of "integrity" in order to be successful? And how has that played out?:coolgleamA:
