I have recently had 2 mails from lists that I'm subscribed to, which basically have the same gist. "Due to technical glitch, our limited space amazing thingy went out for longer than expected. So take advantage of us"

You get the picture, obvious BS. but got me wondering if anyone has tried this and if it works?

My guess is no; however I'm always prepared to be wrong.
