So it has been a little bit over a year since I read MJ’s books and got the entrepreneur seed planted in my brain. Thanks for that.
I went through some common stages at the beginning, action faking, looking for short cuts and so on.
At the moment I'm stuck in a logistic apprenticeship, which I will finish in exactly one year from now. With the goal in mind to never work there again.
Using the skills I'm learning anyway, I’m starting a domestic E-Commerce Business.
It has been 2 weeks since I started the project and the deadline for the launch of the Shop is set for the end of next week.
It's interesting how fast you can learn when you're taking action and step out of your comfort zone.
The concept is simple: Sell cheaper then you buy
Milestones:
Get Shop running
First Sale
Sell 100 Unit’s
Sell 1000 Unit’s/month
Sell 10’000 Unit’s/month
Sell 100'000 Units /month
What are the main areas of focus?
• Product sourcing
• Supply Chain
• Webstore
• Marketing
Product Source
1. Find out who produces the Product
2. Try to win them as supplier
3. volume is not big enough.... find a smaller retailer
4. negotiate better conditions
5. order the first sample
6. First big order
7. Create Volume
8. Find better conditions and new products to sell
Supply Chain
1. Use own house as a warehouse (as the product is small)
2. Package everything myself until the volume is created
3. Outsource
Webstore
1. Create a Shopify Account
2. Learn how to use the platform for maximum potential
3. Get marketing material from a supplier
4. Create a simple but fast Webstore
5. Add Products
6. Add Domestic Payment Methods
7. Do first test purchase
Marketing
1. Find a Consumer group to target
2. Target them with Ad’s
3. Analyze and repeat
4. Social Media
As you may have noticed the plan is not fully complete yet (especially marketing). I learn as I go and my first Milestone is a fully working infrastructure.
What have I accomplished so far?
• Found a customer group to target ( urgency and need)
• Decided on the first 5 products that will be available in the store
• Found 2 Suppliers, one with good conditions, others are terrible….. need to re-negotiate and create volume
• in contact with 3 other suppliers
• Store is online
• Domain Saved
• Decided on a simple theme
This threat is meant to share some value and keep my momentum up. So enjoy
