I've come to realize that I don't have much control over anything in my life right now. Then I discovered that I can control some of the MOST IMPORTANT things about my life.
1. I can control my mind (one of life's greatest attributes)
2. I can control my diet (essential to maintaining #1)
So I immediately went to the kitchen and started to go through the kitchen cabinets. I spent about an hour creating a grading system, and then grading random articles of food in the pantry. I started with cereal. Here are the best - worst cereals that I currently have. I got rid of all but the top 2 (the one's with the highest points)
About my grading system (I looked for things like low sodium, low sugar, high fibre, high thiamine, as well as other essential nutrients.)
Keep in mind that some of these might only be available in Canada, but it still is interesting;
1- Vector = 35 pts.
2- Kashi = 27 pts.
3- Cheerios = 25 pts.
4- Muesli Mix = 21 pts.
5- Frosted Flakes = 20 pts.
6- Rice Krispies = 15 pts.
7- Froot loops = 6 pts.
I noticed that all of the cereals had different portion sizes (they do this to make there nutritional content look better :cuss:, many people overlook that...like once I saw a muffin who's nutritional value only worked for 1/4 of the muffin lmao :smx4::smx4.
So I brought them all to the recomended intake of 55g, or 1 and 1/4 cup.
I'm attacking frozen foods next so I'll keep you posted.
I also went from eating at fast food joints (from 15 times a month, to 2 times a month (I've been a vegetarian for about a year, but they still have food with no meat lol).
Also my mother doesn't cook so it's normally just ordering out all the time... I refuse :yourock:..not only does it wast money (40-60$ per meal), but it wastes life as well (health).
I've cut back from 15 times a month to about 3.
Peace yall':banana:
