Nowadays, kids, teenagers, and young adults spend the majority of their free time scrolling on their phones. This got me thinking: would it be a good idea to create an educational app, similar to Duolingo, but focused on teaching practical, real-life skills? The app could cover topics like entrepreneurship basics, soft skills development, environmental awareness, history of their country etc. It could combine bite-sized lessons with interactive quizzes to make learning engaging and accessible.
The idea came to me because, every morning on the bus, I see both kids and adults completely glued to their phones. If they're already spending so much time on their screens, why not provide an option to use that time more productively?
However, my biggest concern is whether anyone would actually be interested in using such an app. I don’t want to invest months of my time into something no one will engage with. With my limited coding knowledge, it would realistically take me at least 6–8 months to develop even a basic version of the app. So, before diving in, I wonder: would this idea genuinely resonate with people, or would I just be wasting my time? And is there an app similiar to this idea on the market?
