I'm working on a tech startup and will launch a company soon. Is there any education i would miss from being an employer before being an employee? My current options for education relating to managing people:
  1. Learn directly from a company owner, who is a family friend. Ask him ton of questions over a month or two. (My company's structure will be almost exactly the same but size will be smaller)
  2. Get an internship at that^ company.
  3. Get an internship at a better company but with a mentor that i won't know.
  4. Get a fulltime job.
    1. In something completely unrelated but with benifits of time and education relating to a different business idea.
    2. In something directly related.
    3. Something mildly related, ie tech startup with no overlapping tech stack.
  5. Read books about it.
Or do all of the above before launching a company?

About the startup: It's a tech startup, with focus on a single product for now.

The experience you will gain from trying to launch a tech company far exceed what you would learn from employment.

Most employment situations are repetitive and narrow.

Stay humble. Seek wisdom. Surround yourself with intelligent people that you respect. The best time to plant a tree was years ago, the second best time is now.

Doing is the fastest way to learn, to @Kak point.

However, the best path depends on your situation and experience. You can learn from being an employee. And you can be both an employee and an employer - those two choices are not mutually exclusive, especially at the launching stage.

Here is a handy guiding principle: optimize for learning/options over money/status. Over the long run, you will be better off.
