Hello everyone!
My name is Phil, and I’m an aspiring entrepreneur ("wantrapreneur"). Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of failed ventures, but each one has been a valuable learning experience. Reading Millionaire Fastlane completely shifted my mindset, and I’m eager to connect with like-minded individuals who can share insights and advice.

I’m currently developing a subscription-based software designed to revolutionize automotive dealership parts departments. This is my area of expertise as I have been "slow-lane-ing" for an eternity I’m ready to take the leap into something game-changing. However, I’m have 2 main hurdles/concerns and would love your input

1. The development of the software. I could use Upwork to find a developer, but my limited programming knowledge makes me concerned about potential communication gaps. Ideally, I’d love to connect with a local developer to build a strong working relationship and streamline the process. Does anyone have experience with outsourcing vs. finding a local developer? Any tips on navigating this without a technical background?

2. Once the platform is built, there’s a possibility that existing Dealership Management Systems (DMS) could replicate the concept. That said, many subscription-based add-ons for sales and service departments have successfully coexisted with DMS platforms—or even been acquired by them. Any advice on mitigating this risk or positioning my software for long-term viability?

I truly appreciate any insights, experiences, or connections you can share. Looking forward to learning from this community!

Thanks in advance!

-Phil
