There's more to the story here, as to how this all came about, but not relevant at the moment. After I hit a few more successes I'll explain more.
Business stats:
Right now there's consistently been between 20-30 customers bringing in on average around, give or take, $XXXX.xx each, annual. (12+ straight months with a consistent core of 20-30). 100% organic word of mouth marketing and for the last 4-5(?) months referrals have been picking up as there's usually at least 1-2 new ones per week now. Referrals aren't asked for either. They're volunteered.
Customers have been let go too mainly because the majority of these bad egg customers try to micromanage something they don't have experience with and it gets on my last nerve. The rest who fall in the let go category are habitual appointment cancelers. Schedules are made and reminders are sent. Cancellations occur occasionally. But habitual cancellations are moved off of the schedule and replaced.
The company goes above and beyond (way beyond) for the valued customers. The amount of extra service and care they get is ridiculous. This is why 1-2 referrals are coming in almost every week right now.
The plan:
Letting go of customers is limiting and this business is to the point of being maxed out with the load, as it sits. So, its time to take this to the next step and bring on workers to: 1) take up the slack of new customers and 2) to kiss the a$$ of the customers I don't want to deal with personally. I'm most likely going to work them in teams, but a little bit at a time as its very specific how things are done and the way the customer is treated.
This growth is why a commercial building is being considered ( Real Estate - Advice needed for leasing a commercial building ) so workers look at it as something serious and established when they come to apply and then also to aid with getting new and different types of customers through other marketing means besides word of mouth.
To add onto this in reference to the building, I'm asset/liability conscious as well.
What this means in my situation is I'm looking for a live/work place. Because why pay rent on two separate places when I can just have an apartment upstairs with an office or storefront downstairs. At the least, I'll have the benefit of a storefront plus a place to live that's affordable (while I build out a property I bought last year that's zoned AG1 out in the country**). Throw in an existing and growing business that's earning a decent living and this all makes for a very positive situation.
That's about it for now.
