Hey Fastlaners!
Opening my second progress thread here. I started my first one in July 2014 and ended it in quite fast again in August 2014. Here it is for reference:
Even Dane Maxwell Would Be Amazed - Creating A SaaS Business with NO Money Like In The Foundation
The reason I ended it was that I thought I had been accepted in the Foundation class back then. In fact, I even had a 20 minute phone call with Dane personally because he wanted to talk to me.
Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding, because in the end they still wanted me to pay the $5k tuition fee which I already told them didn't have.
Well, doesn't matter anymore. The reason I didn't continue my thread was quite simply shame. (It's now 1 1/2 years later and still not easy for me to admit.)
In September 2014, I started a small blog I only wrote on for 16 days. The last months of 2014 I was pursuing a venture that had to do with my university's software.
Sounded good, but I stopped it because the project didn't comply with the commandment of control: Basically I wanted to explain the overly complicated software, yet it was already planned to exchange that with an easier one. Not that good for a long-term business.
What I've been doing in 2015
2014 ended and I continued working in 2015. Since I started a Mastermind group in March, I can tell you what exactly I did:
The result of 2015 + what I'm going to work on in 2016
As you can see, I failed in 2015 quite a few times. Didn't make money from my own products, but in the end I have some promising things going. Here's a list of what my current projects look like:
As you can see, I'm not really focused on one project. Money enables me to split my attention because I just have other people working on my projects.
My goal for 2016 is to make about $3k/month, so I can move out from home and finally live independently.
I'll get into more details (and my current problems) in the next post. For now, thank you for taking the time for reading this!

What I've been doing in 2015
2014 ended and I continued working in 2015. Since I started a Mastermind group in March, I can tell you what exactly I did:
- Started an insurance comission based job which allowed me to go to sales training there (was very good!). My "career" there never took off, made about $250 in 3 months, but got connected to some awesome people.
- Worked on an inner game course similar to what @AndrewNC is now doing with Limitless. Stopped because I realized that I have no credentials to do that. All I was doing was compiling information I have read and thought were good... but I wasn't the living proof of what I wanted to preach. Had 3/4 of it done after about 2 months but it felt inauthentic, so I stopped it.
- Spotted an awesome opportunity for a course in the sex niche, started working on this (and I'm still working on this - more on that later).
- After that I worked on and finished a guide for photographers about "how to get models working for free, setup amazing photoshootings, and build your image". Took me a few months, my gf connected me with a lot of photographers who basically delivered all the content.
After that time I realized I really dislike most photographers and don't want to serve them. Tried to find affiliates for my product in > 100 facebook groups, I was rejected massively and basically said "F*ck it" after that.
- Created a freelancer account on Upwork and tried to find copywriting jobs. Had been learning copywriting for a year then (+ writing copy), so I wanted to make some money with this skill.
After a few weeks I got a job, but felt miserable when I realized that I was helping this guy to build his business.
Why? Because I could have been building my own business in that time, too. I used the copywriting job as an excuse to stop working on my own dreams. The result: I never took another copy job again.
- Got the domain ThePresenceProcess.info and wanted to create an affiliate site for the amazing book "Michael Brown - The Presence Process". At that time, there was no official website so I wanted to do some SEO and push my site.
Stopped it because the official site appeared (weird timing) and I started feeling bad about continuing my site. The reason for that is my respect for the author - I didn't feel like I could give more value than he does.
- Started a project in the "how to get a job" niche with amazing AdWords opportunity. A friend of mine and me finished the info product and VSL. We basically copied & improved the product from a competitor who has some "okay" success (even though he's not actively marketing it). We wanted to do it better.
In the end we never published it because I totally lost motivation in this project. I think I don't really believe in the value of this (even though it's selling).
- Created a website in the personality niche, explaining a specific personality type in detail. Still a current project, more on that later
The result of 2015 + what I'm going to work on in 2016
As you can see, I failed in 2015 quite a few times. Didn't make money from my own products, but in the end I have some promising things going. Here's a list of what my current projects look like:
- Personality website (least focus)
Hired a very talented freelancer who is that personality type to write content for me for $150 a month. She writes a few articles a month, and the responses are very good. Our best article (the first one) gave us 80 facebook likes in 3 days.
People seem to embrace that, and the project is passive for me right now. Right now we have 30 people on our email list. When we reach 1k, I'll have her create a book about it and a membership program.
- The internet marketing software
There's a bit to say about the software. I'm planning to give it away for free (will post the domain later in this thread when everything is setup), with a pro upgrade people can get for referring other free users (or paying me $37).
Right now my coders are working on both products. This means I need to wait for them to finish. The site + copy is already up and running. When the products are done, I'll just need to create an explanation video/VSL and put it up to get it going.
The awesome thing here: I've spotted another, possibly disruptive software opportunity in the IM niche. I also have this product created right now and planning to offer this later on. Will be a monthly recurring product. More info on that later.
