I wanted to share some thoughts that have been on my mind lately. It’s about how important it is to maintain control over your life—not just in business, but also in everyday decisions. A few things have happened recently that made me see everything from a different perspective.
In just two weeks, my Slowlane saved investments lost 10% of their value. In the past, I would have seen this as something natural, but now I realize that, in a way, I handed over control of my future to someone else. It’s not a disaster, but this realization made me think—I put myself on an emotional rollercoaster that I didn’t really need to be on.I handed over control of my financial future to someone else.
The other situation involves my stepfather. He’s 60 years old now and has worked hard his entire life. About a week and a half ago, he had an accident that left him only able to walk with crutches. He’s a former football player whose knees have been in bad shape for years. After many years of loyal service, he was let go because he could no longer fulfill his duties. This has been a huge burden, both for him and for my mom. Pink Slip, not so long ago, he used to go to concerts privately with his former boss, like friends. But a few days after his accident, he was fired.
This made me reflect on how easy it is to give away control of your life to others. I used to think it was normal, but now I see that you have to be very careful about these things.
