So I had decided to go with the ultra diet solution to help IBS get better. However, a few roadblocks came up immediately:
1) I found out it's illegal to "prescribe" diets if you're not licensed, even if you're not actually prescribing anything. I wasn't surprised by this except the fact that apparently you can't "loophole" your way in it. Meaning, I can't give out my personalized diet plan for myself as a pdf to others because it would technically still be considered prescribing. I am looking into a lifestyle coaching sort of angle to it so that I am only giving out what has helped me in the past and there's nothing in writing. I was also thinking of making a hardcore disclaimer at the beginning of the diet and lifestyle choices so that it makes it obvious that I'm not prescribing anything.
Note: Entry was a lot higher than I thought. It seems obvious now but in order to fully give the full experience to customers (prescribing diets, supplements, lifestyle choices) I have to AT LEAST take a bachelor's in nutrition.
2) In testing the market, I found something that might be obvious but still frustrated me: the demand is there but without authority people will just show mild interest in what changed my life forever with IBS and then never contact me again; not even if I'm giving it out for free. I've a had a few positive responses but no feedback on the results of the diet yet, as it takes about a week to show some sort of progress. I think the way I could get around this is if I "sell" my personal story of victory first and get the market to relate and see that there's at least a bit of hope that their own life would change (seeing as how my IBS was really, really bad).
A few alternatives I've considered:
-Simply write a book about my life changing experience. The immense relief I felt when I could finally wake without a bloated stomach or stomach cramps or nausea or pain. Give out the diet in the book but sprinkled into the narrative with disclaimers that this is my own journey and that the reader is not obligated to follow my diet.
I love writing (copywriting is actually what I focused on in my digital marketing agency) so that's a plus. I was thinking of doing this at some point anyways but I think I might have to consider this now.
-Coaching angle. Though I feel uneasy about this because I don't feel adequately prepared to do so, I'm still trying to market organically and simply interact with an audience that is interested in the solution. Like I said before, few have expressed mild interest and one was overwhelmingly positive but I still gotta wait for the results. No charging, obviously, just giving out as much value as I can.
In the meantime, I'm still writing down the structure of my program/book/story in order to give the customer the most concise and legal way to apply the ultra diet. I still think this will be useful to people even if only a few benefit from it so I don't mind giving it out to the world. Let's see what's up
