Hiiii everyone. I just finished reading the Millionaire Fastlane about a week ago and I have been reading over it and just always constantly in it like it is my bible these days. MJ thanks for this treat! Back to the topic at hand. Is anyone out there familiar with The Food Entrepreneur Program offered at University of Nebraska-Lincoln? If not, it is a program that offers to take you step by step through the process of successfully bringing food products to the market. Even help you get your product in front of different channels. I already have a few ideas that are in consideration but I want my product to be golden. Like a one hitter quitter, guaranteed success by evaluating the market and making sure one of my already thought out ideas are winners or creating one for a market that is in demand. One thing I currently notice from my research before even entering the program is consumers are demanding healthier products. Organic, natural, gluten free any health benefit the market is raving about. Let me put things into perspective, Whole Food which is an entire grocery branded around healthier products, launched a brand Simply Truth where everything is organic in 2012 as of today it is a BILLION dollar company. 2 years a billion dollars. I don't want to bore you with my research but anyway long story short. I am looking to start the program in January 2016 it takes a year to successful complete the program and get your product on the market. So I am looking to launch my product in 2017. I don't feel like this information is a secret and everyone knows that everything is shifting towards organic, natural and just healthier eating and living. I mean gyms are calling my phone for a membership these days. Lol. I just want a little advice on if I should try to launch my product as organic and maybe target Whole Foods as a channel. My dilemma is I believe anyone in Consumer Package Goods is going to headed this way. Granted successfully bringing a product to the market takes a lot of evaluating and research. A lot of people try to take short cuts in the process and launch crappy products. So I just feel like the market is gonna be saturated with organic and natural products coming up these next few years. The book talks about if everyone is doing it you should go the opposite way. My questions is if I should follow the trend because opportunities are there and if properly executed the benefits could be tremendous or if I should run away from what everyone else is doing and find another lane in Consumer Package Good? I have 6 months to figure it out and plan on just indulging myself in research, and information just to make sure my product is a winner before I even get to the program. The program is going to help me conduct even more research and obtain top of the notch expertise. Looking for any feed back or thoughts. Apologize for any typos or miscommunication. I am at work. Lol
