Anybody watch the Ashley Madison documentary on Netflix?
It's a classic example on how bro-marketers would run a company in pursuit of the almighty dollar; full of deceit, fraud, and lies -- surprised the CEO didn't do prison time.
Just to give you an example, they offered a service where if you paid $19, not only did they delete your account (soft delete), they wiped out all your data (hard delete).
Think they wiped your data after paying the $19 wipe fee?
Nope.
Some would call this unethical. I call it fraud.
Think all those beautiful women on the website were real?
Nope - bots, and fake profiles from employees which encourage men to pony up and pay $$$.
That "Trusted Security Award" posted on the website? Fake and just some cheap Photoshop.
The CEO is on talk shows caught making lie after lie after lie...
But he made millions, right? He's a great businessman!
Don't let money compromise your ethics where the ends justifies the means. Oh, but this makes me more $$!
And yet, I get the feeling some folks here would be fine with this behavior.
In fact, didn't one "I won't mention his name" guru get started this same way? With a dating website filled with fake profiles?
Fraud is not a business model.
