Hello everyone, I created and I'm selling a product that is receiving good feedbacks from the public. The sales are not very high, but I have just started and I think there is a certain need to be satisfied.
However in the past I promoted just online services, while this time I'm selling a physical product. And for me is very different from online services.
Why now I'm dealing with a completely new type of "customer": those who want something for free.
I am receiving more and more often messages from people who:
- Want free products and - only if they like it - they will talk about it on their channels (often I contacted influencers, but the typical answer if this one).
- People who instead of buying in the e-commerce, send me a message in which they say they would like to "evaluate" the product as they work in the niche, so they will promote it
- Etc. etc.
Problem: how do you deal with these people?
I have no objection to sending free products to people who manage portals for articles, unboxing or reviews. But I'd like avoid:
- People who don't want seriously talk about it and ask just for a freebie. I mean, If I see a product on-line I know if I want talk about it or not. If you have the stuff in your hands you can see the quality, but you can't tell me "maybe I will talk about it or maybe not, it depends": there is a website with photos and texts about how it works, so it isn't a mistery. If you like it, I'll send it to you and you'll talk about it: then you can say if it seems quality or not. But you can't say that MAYBE talk about it and MAYBE not. Itsn't professional, for me.
- People who say they make it known to everyone, when they really just want to save few bucks. In fact, I have no way of understanding whether these people, for work, are really in contact with other people in their niche.
When I was dealing with websites, there was always the customer who wanted a discounted service because "then they would bring me other customers". And I've always avoided these types of customers.
