@Omega actually inspired this idea while I was listening to some albums on my turn table yesterday. Disclaimer. This is not fastlane. It is a side hustle, but a quick easy way to make money to fund your fastlane business.
Anyone who's not living under a rock knows that records have come back in a big way. Every big named artist is releasing their new albums on vinyl and more and more second hand record stores are popping up.
Buying bulk collections of records right now is easy and affordable.
Stock: Go to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army. Every day, older folk will donate their own record collections. The majority of it is crap, but you'll find gems. Make friends with a worker there and ask them to give you a call when they get new donations in. Most thrift stores will sell albums for $1-2 each.
Also, Craigslist is a good resource. Lots of people sell their old collections. I found some great albums for only a few bucks each from old hippies.
Sell them: You can easily price your finds. Just Google vinyl record values and there are several databases with market value. Pay attention to edition and pressing. Just like books, first edition or select pressing runs can be worth a lot.
Turn around and sell these on eBay. Good finds can go from $20-$100.
It's not just finding that rare Beatles album with the ultra rare label still sealed in plastic. For example, my wife loves this super obscure 80's singer Amanda McBroom. I tried to buy the album for her, $80.
Have fun!
