Hi,
I wrote a book about anxiety and panic. Only selling it in my country (Netherlands). I sold 25k copies with 1 year and it became an instant best-seller. Without using the traditional book stores. I basically sold everything from only my store. I never wrote a book before and nobody ever heard of me.
I now want to expand globally. But I face one problem: distribution
For now I've done everything myself in terms of printing and sending the book. Or well I can't print it myself but I just order a bunch and let them send them to my home and then send them to my customer.
But this is not an option for countries that are too far away because of shipping/return costs. So I think the best way to solve this is to:
- Print the book in the country I want to sell in
- Deliver the book to a distribution center
- and let them handle the shipping
This is far less expensive than selling through Amazon. Which also has other issues:
- You don't get your customers email
- The fee is 30%+
Although using a distribution center is also a hassle and I can't find any reliable ones.
I'm not sure how to solve this problem. The easiest way would be Amazon I guess?
