I'm Jessy, a 20-year-old Accounting major at university. I bloody -hate- it, but I'm a senior, so I'm stuck.

However, I'm planning to just get the degree and hopefully just have it as a back-up when I happen to fail at being a....

writer! No, no abstract or soppy poetry stuff. I've written an eBook and I hope to do more in the future! Also, I'm considering getting my MFA in Creative Writing so I can be a professor of the subject. :smxF:

Write now, I rote a book about making friends, attracting sexies, and generally improving social life.

The site is up at www.hackthesocialcode.com, and I've had it up for a week, 64 visitors and 4 sales.... not much, but I'm hoping I'll do better with more time and effort. :coffee:

So, I'm so excited to be here, because I just could NOT stomach the idea of being a cubicle workhorse for half my waking life until my last few years of life. I just understand how risky entrepreneurship is, and how most people fail.

I wouldn't think 4/64 is a bad conversion rate ... that is nearly 8%. Any other EBook sellers have any other conversion metrics for what is typical?

I know I've been lucky *so far*, but I've never been famous for my patience. :-P

You've only been lucky so far? I guess that means you need to work harder at your marketing!

I think you might even have a higher than 8%ish conversion rate. There's a pretty good chance that at least one of the purchasers came to your site more than just once before deciding to buy.

So... Some things I noticed when reading through your copy. It actually kept me wanting to read, good job there! I couldn't count the number of random products I've looked at and found them to be just too cheesy, boring, annoying or otherwise attention repelling. So it was a bit surprising to say to myself "Hey, I read it to the end without having to force myself."

I'd say you've done a good job at building up a depressing forcast by the mid point. I very nearly felt bad.

Have you tried to get any testimonials?

What's with the trend of pricing ebooks ending in 7?

Good luck, and as long as you don't take loans from the wrong people, you're not at risk of having your organs harvested just for being an entrepreneur.

I'm working like crazy! :-D I can't really afford advertising at the moment, so I'm mainly writing articles on ArticlesBase. Damn EzineArticles for taking so long to decide if they want to approve my articles!! grrr lol

Maybe, because I did have a whole bunch of friends review my site, and they visited multiple times. :P

:icon_fU: That forecast is all true. I DO know a 55 year old virgin, and don't get me started on the way people get treated at work if they're not liked. :-/ It's a fkd up world, so I'm hoping that this will help people avoid that fate.

Have you tried to get any testimonials?

I have 2 friends who agreed to it, but they don't want their full names or location on there. And I read somewhere that no one gives testimonials credibility unless full names and cities are on there, because they assume they're fake. bleh...so I'll wait until I get one willing for me to put their whole name up. I don't blame them for not wanting to put testimonials up. In fact, technically, doing so would violate one of the social rules I cover in my book. :smx4: Oops.

What's with the trend of pricing ebooks ending in 7?

bwaaaahaha xD I heard that psychologically, ending prices in 7 is more compelling than any other number (lucky number? Keeps the dollar digit rounded down without the obviousness of 9? Who knows). But now it seems to be getting worn out, so I may have to switch to 3, or 1, etc. lol

O_O

No loans here....waaaay too risky for something that may not even work out. Especially since I'm a total newbie. If I can't pay for it in cash, I can't afford it.

Gotta agree with Justin...that's some GREAT copy writing!

:hurray: Thanks! :-) It's the first time I've EVER written one of these things, so I wasn't sure if I'd do right or if I'd completely APPALL everyone. lol
