I've been on the forum for a few years providing feedback and getting insights into the fastlane. I've had side hustles before and have jumped from idea to idea. It's ironic I gave others on the forum advice but couldn't apply it to my own self. Not only is it hypocritical no matter how much it helped the other fastlaners but I found myself being an action faker. Recently at my work I found out that my hours would be reduced almost to none due to issues with funding (small start up) which meant I had no normal means of income. I confided in my Dad for support and we talked about possible directions (He's also a FLF member). I recognized that my other options would need to obtained later and that I had nothing coming in now, nothing to move the needle now. I took my dog for a walk and noticed how bad my neighbor's yard was. I asked to mow it for them and will be paid tomorrow! I have the blisters and calluses to show my efforts, but also the yard looks 100x better!
I will be mowing this neighbor's lawn once every 2 weeks and will look for additional people to book and begin mowing their lawns. Since there is a lot of competition in my neighborhood for mowing I considered using my pressure washer for fences, patios, decks, and driveways since the heavy equipment from construction has left the driveways and other concrete structures a mess. There are also villas which have their lawn mowed as part of the HOA fee but due to the construction the dirt sweepers have pushed dirt onto the windows which I plan to begin cleaning. Am I dipping my cup into a lot of barrels? Sure thing! I've always been a versatile and fast learner and I want to learn the ins and outs of these services.
Edit: I haven't mowed for money before and I used a push mower and a pair of landscape scissors since my weed whacker isn't working properly
Here's the backyard: (I was given consent by the homeowner to utilize images and all identifiable home markings have been hidden)
