Hi everyone ! I am 36, married, no kids, writing from France. As I gathered memories to resume my own story, I must admit that I started my post-graduation life as a complete sidewalker.
Having trouble to focus on anything, I graduate in Politics, then in Chinese language, and moved to China en 2007 where my main activity turned to be... music. It was great earning my life for few years doing what I love as a freelance musician, in a country that back then, was opening-up and was full of opportunities.
At that time carpe diem ruled my life and I used to do choices without lucid consideration for future consequences. After 6 years in Asia I decided to go back to France because I wanted to study at the conservatory and be a "better artist". I didn't prepared this move well at all, and as France was still severely hit by the economic crisis, as I had too few savings, lost a lot of contacts, as my family wasn't very supportive and my wife could barely speak the language and find a job, the move hardly was a success. That's when I realized I needed more responsability and moved to the Slowlane.
Find a job, save a little bit, decrease my expenses... Tried to open a language school but failed in the middle. I eventually ended up being an employee journalist, up to now, a situation I don't satisfy myself with. I recently stepped on @MJ DeMarco 's great book TMF , and am now more eager to take the next exit to the Fastlane. No plan yet, but working on it. Happy to talk with any of you !
