My garbage cart disappeared last week. While not a common occurrence, it happens often enough that you see some carts with DIY street numbers on them (usually spray painted, graffiti-looking numbers). I’ve paid more than once to have the stenciled street number on my curb re-painted, but I’ve never heard of anyone offering to paint a nice looking street address on garbage carts. A quick search indicates that stick-on addresses are readily available, but I could find no anecdotal information about anyone anywhere offering to actually paint or apply a street address. Could be a good side hustle for someone.
A quick google search yielded a story about a teen who solicited his neighbors for a subscription service to roll their carts to the curb on pick-up day and return them after they were emptied. Another offered pressure washing carts. There are probably other similar services that could be offered (breaking down boxes?).
I see a good number of FLF posts about various maintenance side-hustles, particularly window washing, but I don’t recall anyone ever commenting on garbage carts/services. It looks like an untapped, low investment market with upsell potential. Has anyone here explored this?
