Here's a little about Taking the Mystery Out of Money:
The only real difference between rich people and poor people is education, and the way they think. There are
other factors of course, but the two key ingredients are attitude and education. Having said that, let me
clarify my statement about education.
When we talk about education, I think we need to talk about the type of education and the lifestyle it will provide. How much will that particular type of "good education" enable you to earn?
Will it be enough to enjoy financial security and financial freedom? Or will you still have problems
paying your bills, and living the lifestyle you desire?
There are many "smart" people who spend their entire life struggling financially. And even though they have a good education in their chosen field, they chose to be smart in a pr ofession that will never pay enough to enjoy financial freedom. And if they tell you that "money isn't everything", it means they don't have any. So what's the
answer?
Doesn't it make sense to put a lot of thought into what you really want to achieve in life, before you spend years learning something that might never do you any good? How many people do you know that earned a college degree, yet are deeply in debt and will need to work years just to pay off the cost of getting that degree? And to make matters worse, they still won't be able to make any real money, even with that expensive education.
Think of all the people who have a job or a profession they hate? People who dread going to work everyday, but
continue doing it because it pays "good money", and has "good benefits" and a "good retirement plan".
But rather than make a change and find something they enjoy doing, they keep showing up at work everyday,
watching the clock, and waiting for quitting time. (A local restaurant has a sign posted "If you don't believe the
dead come back to life, just be here at quitting time).
Enjoy the book.
