Hello everyone, my name is Lance. I've owned and operated a successful offline business for 11 years now. And while my business can be scaled, there is fairly high level of risk. Therefore, it's not very realistic for me to consider growing too far beyond the point I'm at now because with the amount of risk involved I would almost certainly always have to devote a large chunk of my time to the business. Even then it is very capital intensive and largely influenced by outside forces. And to be quite honest, while it's still quite profitable it isn't as much fun as it was when I started.
Luckily I've been able to build a great deal of equity in a very stable class of real estate over the past 11 years. Enough that I can hire someone to oversee operations at company (at it's current size) and separate myself from the day to day operations without much risk. It'll still require some managerial oversight, but not a lot.
Anyway, in anticipation of the day when I would hire someone else to take care of day to day operations I've be investing heavily in my business education. I've been through lots of the big ticket courses, coaching programs, etc. from all sorts of people. Some turned out to be the "guru" type that were full of horse pucky while others turned out to be real gems. And some in between. I've been through programs dealing with copywriting, traffic generation, conversion, information marketing, product creation, product launches, business development, teleseminars, webinars, email marketing, etc. Some of them I put to use in my offline business & some of them I enrolled in just to expand my knowledge base for when I moved on to the next chapter. I've never regretted paying for any of the programs. They were all a valuable learning experience in one way or another (even the sub par ones).
I'm currently working on a web based business that caters to the same industry of my offline business. It will launch by the end of the month. I'm very excited to interact with all of you fellow Fastlaners. I have no doubt that I'll learn some valuable lessons from all of you and hopefully I can provide some value to the forum based on my experiences over the past 11 years.
Well that's it for now. I look forward to being a part of this community. Thanks for having me.
