40 y/o, stay at home father.
I found this forum by accident. My wife wanted me to consider getting CPA credentials, it sounded terrible to me, but I humored her and did a little internet search and came up with this forum for some reason. I noticed there was a book, then I noticed the tremendous reviews for it, so I went and read it. As probably everyone reading this already knows, it was enlightening. I could clearly see exactly where I was right, where I went wrong, and where I need to go from here.
The "EL" in my user name stands for Early Learning. I've felt for many months now that if I do not bring EL to the people, then I'm a failure. It's the educational equivalent of nuclear energy, and the world is mostly oblivious or apathetic to it. There's a huge upside here, but also an equally steep slope and formidable obstacles that have so far made me feel more depressed than energized. I plan on turning that around and throwing the odds to the curb as I go. I cannot allow myself to give up; that's too easy.
I'm going to need a little tailwind. That's why I'm here.
As for my personal life, I've been sitting on the curb of the sidewalk for a few years; it was easier to sit around after paying cash for my house five years ago, but ultimately, life sucks without accomplishments and the journey.
