Hello Folks,
I have created over 100 websites. All of them Wordpress blogs exceot for a couple that were static websites.
Wasted a lot of time creating blogs that had low cpc value and no matter how many pages they had, made only pennies per day.
Along the way I have become an expert in SEO, but the biggest mistake I made was not using an autoresponder like aWeber to build lists. The money is in the list, as they say.
Anyway, I am in the process of correcting that error.
Most of my blogs are now autoblogs where content is automatically added to them every day along with ads from Amazon and clickbank. I am an affiliate of both.
When I first began, I was told to build a website on an interest, build something you love and the traffic will come, the mentor said. Content is king, etc. So I did and it didn't work out for me. My Alexa rank was in the millions, far far away from generating any traffic.
What terrible advice - cost me at least a year.
No traffic = no money.
If you Google "highest paying adsense" you will find that the highest paying adwords are mainly lawyers looking for leads, insurance companies, credit card companies, etc.
The competition for these is fierce.
On the other side of the coin is Google adsense. Once yoiu sign up for adsense, Google gives you code to stick in your website and the Google bots will find the code and automatically add Google adsense ads to your website. Now, according to Google, Google pays the adsnese affiliate 68% of what is costs for the Adword purchase (cpc). So it behooves you to find high paying cpc and make a website around that keyword. Google tells you all about this in their adwords discovery tool.
Another cool use of the adword tool is to find out what your competition uses for keywords - just enter the URL into the Website box and keywords used by are listed. Neat.
Here are some domain names that sold for millions up through 2009. These guys are Fastlaners.
1. Insure.com, sold to QuinStreet for $16 million in 2009.
2. Sex.com, sold for $12-$14 million in 2006.
3. Fund.com, sold for $9.99 million in 2008.
4. Porn.com, sold for $9.5 million in 2007.
5. Business.com, sold for $7.5 million in 1999.
6. Diamond.com, sold to Ice.com for $7.5 million in 2006.
7. Beer.com, sold for $7 million in 2004.
8. Israel.com, sold for $5.88 million in 2004.
9. Casino.com, sold for $5.5 million in 2003.
10. Toys.com, sold to Toys ‘R Us for $5.1 million in 2009.
Notice they are all .com.
My next project is to use the free Squidoo.com to build a website. Then, i will use special software that will take my unique articles, spin them into several new articles, and distribute them to over 500 article directories. In each article there are anchor texts that point back to my Squidoo.com website. This builds back links, Google juice. And my Squidoo page, Squidoo calls them lenses, points back to an affiliate product I am promoting.
It's a form of "Bum Marketing".
My goal is to become a super-affiliate and retire.
