Hey guys, I'm Chris and I'm one of the lucky few who has had ambitions from a young age. I always knew I wasn't going to end up working a job my whole life but I had no idea what that meant or how everything was going to pan out. I felt quite lost and that made me make some pretty poor academic choices. I always thought that rich people had a certain mindset, or privilege that 'normal' people don't have, but after realising that I don't want to work for the rest of my life I decided to do some research, and now I know that it's attainable I'm dedicating every bit of spare time to educating myself to allow me to realise that ambition. I've read the book (twice, actually
) and basically every other one I can get my hands on, and I'm solidifying my plans.
I'm still a student (for another 2 years) but I'm already looking at getting into the property market as I come from landlord stock - although I'm going to hold more properties in 10 years than my Father had in his career if all goes to plan. I'm not interested in becoming a landlord though, I'm investing early while I have plenty of free time so further down the line I have a financial base to grow a business from. My ultimate aim is to build a business over 5-10 years post university whilst also investing in property (to be managed professionally, I'm more interested in lower guaranteed passive income than higher income as a landlord). I'd like to sell it off and invest the proceeds to live off interest (something I need to do a lot of research on, at the moment I'm clueless), or maybe run a small business to entertain myself, but the bottom line is I want complete financial freedom by 30-40, which gives me 9-19 years. I'm driven by the desire to experience the world and pursue my interests, and I understand that money is required to do this in comfort and youth.
Not gonna lie though, in my current state I think others are more equipped to contribute to the forums but as my experiences grow I'm looking forward to sharing what I learn. I'm really excited for the future now -- I can't thank you enough for the book, it's changed the way I see the world completely.
