Hello everyone, my first read of TMF was around last September but I was very busy and didn't dig very deep into it. I reread again this Feb and have read it again several times in the past few months. I really like what MJ writes in his book especially the 5 commandments. I'm a young man from the far east and I've started my entrepreneurial journey since I was 13 but only get serious with it when I was 15.
I'm a testament of "Do what you love does not makes money". I was arbitraging those online games items and also traded a few Maple Story accounts, etc. I love to play online games at that time and I keep trying to earn some bucks from it so that I can play with faster and bigger screen computer in cyber cafe as well as upgrading my weapons and armors! I earned some bucks from it but it hardly reach the hundred dollar mark...
When I was 15, I continue to follow my passion and at that time I tried to buy & sell second hand video game console but it fail again (although it fail, I do not feel that bad as I can play with those toys LOL). Then when I was in my late 15, I joined a MLM program and guess what? It works out at first but not long later the "passive income" that it promised dried off.
After that I have tried several more businesses but most of them fail, only one that stands out is reload business. It doesn't earn a lot of money but at least it earns me a few hundred bucks every month consistently. It fulfilled the 1st commandment of need but lack the ability of scale therefore I continue to search for the next holy grail business that could earn me at least thousands every month. The next thing I get into was online business. As you may have guessed, nothing worked out, most of them works for a while but eventually dies off.
Fast forward, I'm a trader for 4 years now and would like to try my feet again in online business. I could say TMF is the best business book I've read so far and it really helps from chasing the tail again! I'm digging into the gold threads and found a lot of great lessons! As MJ says, "Smart man learn from his mistakes but wise man learn from others mistakes!"
