Hello Everyone!
I have just recently joined this incredible forum through which I found by reading MJ's masterclass work of The Millionaire Fastlane and I'm really excited and looking forward to reading a lot of what you guys have to say and updating you guys as my journey progresses in the future.
I would like to start off by saying a HUGE thank you to you MJ for taking your time to write this eye-opening book that has really helped me change my mindset about how I should really be living and going about my life. Thank you very much for spending as much as 3 years to write this one book (and for not giving up multiple times on completing it mid-way through) that has the potential to impact millions of people, even though you didn't truly need to do that given all your wealth and success at the time.
So a little about me - I'm currently 20 years old (turning 21 soon), I'm from Toronto, Canada, and I have thankfully and finally graduated from university from a general business program.
To be honest, I am still not quite sure what should be my big first step to kick-off my journey. I hate to admit it, but the truth is that I have little to no experience in almost any field or topic in life. All I've been doing up until this point is work some crappy retail or restaurant jobs, and study useless theories in high school and university without ever getting the chance to apply it and getting some hands-on, real life experience. I understand that I will need to create and do SOMETHING and learn as I go, but as I mentioned, I'm still trying to figure out what that something could be. So if anyone has any advice on that, regarding a generally good starting point, or something that worked for you or someone you know from personal experience, I would appreciate any input. It would especially help if you feel like you've been in a very similar position before, and found a way to get through that stage and now own a successful fastlane business and don't mind sharing that journey and experience.
That being said, I have thought of some ideas that could help me start out. The only problem is that these ideas involve creating and distributing a physical product that likely would be costly to start, especiialy producing many copies of it to distribute it internationally; so that might be something I won't be doing now but in a few years from now once I'm more financially stable and pay off my loans.
Finally, I would love to share with everyone my dream and what I am chasing after. The dream I always think about and the life I am striving to live does not have much to do with buying expensive cars and houses on the side of an ocean or something along those lines (maybe one day, but that's not the priority).
My real and big dream is to constantly travel the world. I want to go everywhere and explore everything (well, not literally EVERYTHING, but you get the idea 😀), and hopefully with an amazing significant other to share all the memories and experiences with. And since I value experience so much, I do not want to EVER travel and have to decide on whether something is worth doing or buying based on how much it costs. My priority is to be able to afford to buy anything and everything, regardless of the cost, as long as it can provide me with an amazing experience that I'll have with me forever.
So my goal is to travel all my life in a luxurious way, without having to ever worry about budgeting and prices of things, and hopefully meet some amazing people along the way and explore some interesting cultures. This will probably be my biggest motivation every day when I wake up and start working on my soon-to-be business (I am also thinking about starting travelling full-time once passive income starts coming in and I'll be successful with whatever it is I'll be doing - even before I reach the liquidation stage).
Also depending how young I would be able to retire, I would love to give professional tennis a shot. I've been playing tennis for as long as I can remember, but unfortunately never too competitively or professionally; that being said, I would say that my level is advanced and I would certainly love to go that route if I ever get the chance and financially it won't be an issue (since it is very expensive and risky to go that route if your family is not rich).
My final big goal and motivation for success is to help out my family. My family is unfortunately not one of the richest (but at the same time definitely not poor), and they have sacrificed A LOT for me and my sister so we can live a great life. So life for them at the moment is tough and they work many hours and don't earn a big enough income to even afford a vacation at least once a year. So definitely I want to give back to my family and share with them many of my future success so they would no longer have to worry about money, that they can retire soon as well, and do what they always wanted to do with their lives but couldn't because they had kids and themselves to support, especially when moving countries and everything in the beginning was difficult.
So here I am, fresh off of university with a lot of time in my hand, and with big goals, ambitions and the belief in my mind that I can live the kind of life I've always dreamed of. I am the kind of person that whenever I set a big goal for myself, I will give a 100% effort to try to achieve it no matter what, even if it means making some big sacrifices along the way. So working hard to make something great happen for myself will never be an issue for me, it's just knowing how to work smart and the right way to save as much time as possible that may just be a bit of a challenge in the beginning. I want to retire young, and I will do everything and anything to the best of my abilities make it happen as soon as possible. I believe that if others have done it before, then so can and will I.
If anyone could provide me with any feedback, advice, or suggestion from personal experience with regards to anything I have shared and discussed on here to help me get to where I wanna get sooner rather than later, I would really appreciate it
Thank you everyone in advance and I look forward talking to all of you more in the near future!
