Canadian here. Hi.
I love business and entrepreneurship. I worked for a guy back in high school who had his own computer sales business and I was hooked on the idea of being my own boss ever since.
I spent 3 years in college for Business Administration with a focus on Marketing only to spend the next 15 years "hoping" and "dreaming" and "thinking positively" about being my own boss. So far the closest I've come to being my own boss is selling "gently used kajiggers" on kijiji for peanuts to clear shelf space for more crap I shouldn't have purchased and don't need.
I spent the last 10 years doing B2B and B2C sales (for extremely well-respected companies mind you) that have left me wanting to put a bullet in my head. I can't do this any longer. Even the absolute best jobs that I "should be thankful for" and "lucky to even be associated with" leave me feeling like the life is being sucked out of me. Humans weren't meant to sit in boxes 5 days a week.
I picked up the Fastlane book and it has not told me a single thing I shouldn't have already known but it slapped me upside the head like a child misbehaving and is spurring me to action.
No more dreaming. Time to act. From the looks of things I'm going to learn a lot here
