Hi everybody, allow me to introduce myself. I'm 21, married 3 years with a newborn son. Broke hehe. Let me start by saying... It is a RELIEF to find a community of like minded people. A community full of ACTION! I've lurked this forum for 3 days now. My greatest inspiration has come from the first 3 chapters of MJ,s amazing book (far as i've gotten so far... CAN'T wait to read the rest!), and Zendolphins "Response to a 17 yr old kid." (This was a kick in the a$$ for me Z. Thank you.) Also Jack Edwards Business Diary was very educative. I've decided to "surround" myself with like minded people, so here I am. All this inspiration has led to the following paragraph...
I was in Dish Network yesterday looking for a job installing. I then turned it down when they offered it to me today. Why? Because of all of YOU. 50+ hrs week sounded good, having a newborn and all. With no debt it would have surely paid the bills. But there was no growth. Months ago I had an idea for a business. I was too chicken shit to try it. So what is it? A mobile car wash/detailing service. Something that's surely been done before but I've never seen it. $20 dollars and I go to you, detail your car, and power-wash it. Wipe it down. Come up with a process that takes about 20 minutes tops. 5 a day is $100...$500 week....$2000 month. All I have to do is come up with 25 repeat customers to meet that goal consistently. So with the necessary tools in hand, I'm about to create 1000 flyers and pass them out around town. Go door to door introducing myself, especially in upper class neighborhoods. We'll see how it goes. Is this Fastlane? Not in my opinion, but this is the vehicle I hope to get me there. This vehicle will fund my second idea that i'll not go into detail about, but it meets a big gaping need in a few certain online services. This will require virtually no upstart investment (maybe 4k), can be implemented on a small scale, and then up-scaled to unlimited potential. The need that it fills will not be something i need to unveil and make people realize, because it will be obvious from the very beginning. It would benefit the "competition"(for lack of a better word), the "customers" (by far) and me of course. One big love triangle. All this said....
Sure, I had 2 great ideas. And always cooking up more. My favorite thing to do is look around the room at things and wonder things such as... "That red Solo Cup, how can I make money off of it?" But everybody i turned to for advice and approval (my 2 ideas) shot me down. And I listened to them, realizing that 9-5 was the "responsible" path to take. It was more stable. All my hopes and ideas, and knowing that the entire wealth of the world was reserved for all but those that live the 9-5.... It was all one big pipe dream. I was out of my league, so shut the F*ck up, get a job like the rest of my family and friends, and retire when i'm 50....
That was until I stumbled across this forum and Mj's book a few days ago, and realized I wasn't dreaming a fairytale....
