Greetings one and all.
My name is Tom and I've had my own "businesses" since 1998. Many of the traps/pitfalls mentioned by @MJ DeMarco in both his books have been encountered by yours truly along my own entrepreneurial journey. Ups/downs and cul-de-sacs have abounded and a different tack/track is now required. I'd love to say "I don't want to make the same mistake once but I'd be a liar..."
For most of this time, I have been an IT Contractor (latterly an "Architect") and although it has all the bells and whistles of running your own business with a limited company, it didn't and doesn't fit with the CENTS formula.
I have already changed the road I have been travelling on as a direct result of the books and look forward to walking the TUNEF process journey.
The change of scenery (road wise) is a return to "getting my hands dirty" as I haven't coded software for many a year. Whilst reading the books, opportunities/needs kept coming to mind and like many of you, have lots of ideas to move forward.
Ideas as we know are 10 a penny and instead have narrowed the field to focus on a "monogamous" problem domain.
Over the Christmas period, I've re-skilled myself to learn Android development and now have the tools to create the apps underpinning the ideas.
Looking forward to learning how others have skewed value on their own journeys and own businesses.
I will no doubt be more of a lurker than a poster as the King needs to be deployed right now and ACTION taken!
