Hello everyone.
The name is Richard, 29 years young and living in Nottingham, England. So here is my introduction post on who I am and why I am here.
Business/Work Experience
I was one of the ones that was sold the dream of getting an education, working hard and then retiring at the age of 65/70. This is what it is like in England. They don't show you the pros/cons of starting on your own but they are happy to push you through the system School > College> University > Work.
My formal education stopped after college where I worked in a dead end job for a year and then joined the Royal Air Force. I was in the RAF for 6 years specialising in IT and Communications. After that I joined a little start-up as an IT trainer. The owner opened my eyes to the entrepreneurial world but she was never there and left me to run the whole place for her ....... you might imagine this was quite stressful. Going from a military job to running a business for someone in such a short amount of time. After about a 1 1/2 years there I found my next job (where I am currently) as an IT Technician for an Construction Company.
So why am I here? I have always dreamed of starting my own thing but with being in the forces and stuff I just coasted through life, not really trying but 2 years ago my life changed and I had my daughter.
With around 2 years of reading motivational books I stumbled on The Millionaire Fastlane audiobook on Audible and have been enjoying it so much.
When MJ spoke out the forum in his book I needed to take a look at it and check it out. This place is pure gold, with some amazing people and I want to be part of that community to contribute and also absorb as much information as I can.
Like they say, "You are the average of the 5 people you surround yourself with the most"
Current Entrepreneurial endeavours
I am currently a Co-owner of a website (not going to promote it so don't worry) that is currently not making any money. It is more of a service to help people find people to hold them accountable.
It is still quite small but it has helped me to learn Marketing, Copy, growing Facebook groups and also to create content like podcasts / videos / facebook live streams.
It has been a great experience and we have been getting more people join over the last few days which is great.
Like I said it doesn't make us any money but it wasn't designed to be a cash cow, it was designed to help people and that's what it is doing.
