Hey!
I'm a 20 years old guy living near Frankfurt in the middle of Germany.
My story
Well, why am I now here? Two years ago I started studying computer science but saw quite quickly that it wasn't the right for me. I program since I'm 12, doing lots of stuff but learning the theory was never something for me. So I went there because "every good person in Germany goes to university after school and you will never get a job without having a B.Sc. or something like that".
The same time I started reading more and more online about being a freelancer, reaching goals and so on. Don't ask me how but from time to time I stumbled upon lists on blogs with the best books about specific topics. I started buying some and reading them on my tablet when I went to university each day (1 hour train ride, 2 times a day). And some books really changed my life.
Two years ago I was shy, had no self confidence, no big future goals (because you're a normal person and you will never reach big goals like millionaires do). I just went with the flow. Now, one year after I started reading all these books and actively working on myself I'm self confident and I have big goals.
Last May I stopped studying and found a small job at a small marketing agency. They recommended me to start my own small business and so I did. I'm now a freelance software developer, working 20 hours each week for them. For the first time in my life I earned own money, travelled through Germany for 3 weeks on my own money and bought me many things I ever wanted to have. This feels so good!
These changes were that huge that nearly my complete life changed. I changed my appearance, my way of thinking, it's unbelievable. And I can't never thank the millionaire's fastlane enough. Such a good book!
My plan is now to develop own software (already have great ideas I'm working on) and selling it online. But also doing some freelance jobs for more money. I also want to do more photography since I'm a quite good hobby photographer.
My big goal
Since I'm still living in my paren't house I have nearly no expenses each month. So I can use most of my money for travelling and things I call "luxury goods". Because I want to move to my own appartment I will buy me many things this year I will need for my first appartment. I already have an Excel sheet for this. And once this is done, which hopefully will be this year, I can look for a nice appartment and have nearly no "extra expenses" besides some furniture. And my first appartment should be a penthouse in Frankfurt.
It's so sad that most of my friends laugh on this plan and don't think that I will ever reach it. The main reason why I'm now here is that I'm looking for people who support my plans. People who understand me. For personal success it's important to surround yourself with supportive people. Maybe people who think the same way, who share the same goals.
By the way, do you maybe have some tips for me how I could find people like that in real life?
