Hey all,
I love the idea of these forums and have already found some great threads just by lurking around.
Looking forward to joining this thriving community.
A little about me:
* 27, male - recently made the switch from fulltime programmer to freelancer
* have always had side business projects, mostly ad-supported websites
* really talented developer, but have not been able yet to turn those skills into a "mega success"
* I have, though, sold several websites in the ranges from $12k - $25k
* At one point, my sites grossed $4,500+ passively
Lately, I've been thinking I really need to get into product-based sites or services. The ad-supported model works for really, really large & popular sites, but it's harder on the lower end and it takes a while to build up that much traffic / popularity.
... oh and recently one of my sites was on Digg two weekends in a row -- it was two full days of 450,000+ pageviews!
