Hi, many name is Danny V., everyone just extends the V to Vee. Sounds cool I guess. I am from Miami, FL. Ran into this forum through Google searching about a month ago.
After high school I went to FSU. While I was there, a speaker came by and had a really moving 2 hour show. I actually was so moved that I couldn't sleep that night. I dropped my classes, broke my lease apartment, slept on friends couch for a couple weeks, took a U-Haul and came back to Miami and started working on 18-wheelers. I had no clue what I was looking for. Years before I got hit by a car while I was riding bike. While at the hospital a gentlemen came by doing charity. I ran into this man at a retail store about 2 months coming back from FSU. He offered me a job days later without me asking. I had no clue he owned a really successful construction company that was about to expand big time. I worked for him for 8 years as one of his right hand guys as the company boomed. He sold his company to a giant company oversees. I no longer worked with a friend and where I could grow. Months later by coincidence during this time I had a good friendship with an owner of another company ready to boom as well and he brought me in. I've been his right hand guy for about a 1-1/2 years and about to help take his company from 50-60 mill volume a year to over 150 mill. I can't complain too much, over the near decade I moved up from a laborer at 10 bucks an hour laborer sweeping floors to over six figures but I feel I am not reaping the rewards as well as I should and that I could do it better myself.
Getting into development fascinates me because there is still a learning curve there and I believe more money as well as there is an asset. I took the part A for the Real Estate license and CAM license over the past 2-3 months. I would like to get my licenses for RE, CAM and GC this year. I've had ideas and actually the owner I work for now has hinted that he would jump in on developing or other ventures. To be honest, I am just a little confused. There is a road but its foggy. Appreciate the opportunity to gain knowledge and advice on this forum. If I am able to give any back, well that'll be nice.
