Hey folks,
I am grateful to find and be a part of this online community. I recently read The Millionaire Fastlane and wow... very informative and inspiring! I have read dozens of entrepreneur, leadership, business, success, etc. books over the past several years. I have gained insight and learning from everything I have consumed, but TMF has given me some concepts I just can't let go of! I am happy to join with some others who have drank the TMF koolaid.
I am 43 with an amazingly supportive wife and 4 children, ages 2-9. When I say my wife is supportive, I mean she would back me 100% if I quit my job tomorrow and I believe she is convinced that I would be more successful outside of the confines of a traditional job. She is a stay at home mom and we are fully dependent on my income, and for this reason I do struggle with the risk/stupidity equation.
I am in the electronics industry and have worked for a private company for 17 years. My income has followed the ups and downs in our industry and currently it is a bit on the depressing side. I make about 30k a year less than I did 4 years ago and our business does not show much promise with the leaders/direction we are heading in now. So....
I am motivated for change! I have always been a top producer and my ideas have shaped many successful processes within the company I work for. 5 Years ago we were debt free and now... eh not so much. I am considering withdrawing the 401k (only about 45k) and selling a rental property to buy enough freedom to get started on my own, but my ideas are still immature ... of course possibly because of my lack of time/freedom.
I plan to contribute in any way possible to this forum and I will attempt to share as much of my journey as would be a benefit to others here.
