So I have a pretty big decision on my hands and since business and entrepreneurship are main priorities I'd love to know what this community thinks of my dilemma.
I'm seventeen years old and I'm graduating high school in January. There have been multiple threads about college and if its necessary, but my family is extremely school orientated so going to college isn't an option. Instead of applying to some state schools that are pretty expensive, I decided to take the community college route - but this is where things get interesting.
Back in the Fall I broke up with my girl friend and had a few problems with my best friend so I sent in an application to a state community college in upstate New York where I have a bunch friends and cousins. I was thinking that spending two more years in my hometown was going to be pretty boring.
I got accepted (which isn't surprising because its community college) but I thought it was interesting how they didn't have a problem with my age or my pending high school diploma. I sent in a dorm application and got accepted to the upperclassmen new hall (pool tables, flat screens in the lounge, etc.). All of these things have made my decision that much more difficult.
So here I am, literally two weeks away from possibly moving three hours north to a new school with new people. On the otherhand, I can stay here in my hometown for another year or two before I transfer or dropout.
To paint a clearer picture, I have a huge amount of friends and many of them are getting on my case for even thinking about moving. But I also don't have a girl friend or job so I'm flexible with moving. I'm also worried about what atmosphere can help me in business. For example, I won't be able to go through with this beer pong product idea I have if I go the dorm route. But on the flipside I might have more time to read all of my business books since I would be twenty feet from a library.
What do you think?!
