Hey everyone I just finished Fastlane and I am very excited to be here! The idea of continuing to trade my limited time for money is haunting me. I must escape! It can be done!!
I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset and I am very excited to learn new ideas and skills here to create freedom for my family and I. The thing that has always been missing is action and this is my year!
One problem I encounter is pursuing ideas that align with my own interests. Passion projects. I figure if I am going to spend a large amount of time creating content it should be about things I enjoy and already know a lot about. Life long guitar player = Guitar ebook/ online course. Artist = Creating t-shirts and niche Etsy shop concepts. While I know this may not always be a bad thing, I realize I need to think bigger. Focus more on a bigger need to fulfill and identifying a specific target audience. When it comes to guitar teaching I am wondering if my target audience will be large enough. Debating many informational systems from ebooks to an online course.. Maybe I am just overthinking this. When it comes to online shops I have some cool concepts but they are not scaleable in a way that is going to get me off the sidewalk.. I am still trading time to create the products rather than having someone else manufacture them. Not to say this is impossible but I lack knowledge in these areas.
I have design and writing skills but know nothing about web design and SEO. Anyone recommend any specific online courses that were particularly helpful? Or for initial web design and landing page maybe hire someone instead?
In my brief time here so far I have noticed two themes.. Hurry up and just create the product and get it out there to see if it actually works. Gauge the market. And of course its not all about the idea its about the execution. Thanks in advance.
