I have only recently found this site and forum. I don't usually tell much about myself to people (especially online) but since I like the idea of knowing who I am getting advice from, and I intend on offering some advice occasionally, I'll introduce myself.
I grew up in a small farming town in the northwest and married a gal from a big city in the southwest. Since then we have been homeless in big southwestern city. Yes I mean homeless as in put your luggage in a shopping cart and push it up the street with the wife and kids following behind. When we hit rock bottom financially we have pushed ourselves up of the ground and started climbing again. We still don't have much but we refuse to stay down. After our shopping cart incident I began reading financial self help books by several different authors and have been able to watch my finances slowly improve.
After starting my reading, I have owned a drafting and design business were I designed houses and log homes. I learned a lot from my attempt at business and learned a bunch about what it takes to run a business but eventually I had to shut it down. Losing it hurt deeply and it took several years to gain a desire to try a business again. Now I am trying to find a part time business that allows me to keep working to keep the kids fed. I have also tried on a couple of occasions to invest in real estate with no money down and almost succeeded. So Far every time I've tried we have not been able to work out the final details.
Well, I didn't mean to write a novel. Lets just say that if I ever reach my goal of becoming a millionaire I'll have a good story to tell. Anyway I am looking forward to learning from all of you here and I hope to be able to contribute in some small way. :smx19:
