So I've been working with some people at my school to put a website together to help students find off campus rental housing, post subleases, and find roommates.
My goal is to have local landlords and property managers sign up and post their rental properties and make the list as comprehensive as possible. It is totally free of charge and I thought that landlords would jump on it since it is essentially free advertising. Most of the people I have met with in the past week love the idea but a handful are hesitant...so my question is: what would you guys like? what would make signing up more lucrative to ya'll/ influence you to utilize the site?
The site is a HUGE need for students at my school and it will probably even have a link from the school website as soon as it is finished being built. (contingent on my meeting with the school's off campus rep next week)
One reason a landlord gave for not immediately signing up is that the demand for housing is so high that he doesn't need to advertise...this is true for most, our school is growing at a break neck pace and there is actually not enough housing for students. <--how should I respond to this?
anyways...thanks for your time, any response would be great.
oh yea the site is housingpuzzle.com if you want to check it out
